The Functions of Proteins in Health

Proteins are macromolecules consisting of chains of amino acid residues. Proteins can be obtained from animal and plant. Proteins that is obtained from animal called animal protein, and that is obtained from plant called vegetable protein. Proteins contain of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, sulfur, and phosphorus. Proteins have ton of functions in our body health. Proteins have fungtions to building blocks of the body, regulate the body system, and repair damaged tissue

Buiding blocks of the body
Human body are builded by cell, human's body consist of billions of cell that bind to each other. Cell constructed of proteins, fats, and carbohydrate, but proteins are the major cell material, approximately 80% of cell formed by proteins. As the building block of body, proteins have great functions in growth and body development. Proteins deficiency will make kwashiorkor, a abnormality that common in poor countries. Proteins is important in building muscle for bodybuilders, he must eat much of proteins to make his muscle growth bigger and stronger.

Regulate the body system
Proteins can regulate the body system in form of enzymes and hormones. All biochemical process in human body is processed by enzymes, degradating the carbohydrate, fats, and proteins itself processed by enzymes in human's alimentary canal. Proteins in the form of hormones will affect in human coordinating system. Hormones collaborating with nervous system will control body movement and body balance.

Repair damaged tissue
After doing heavy work and injured, human tissue has a lot of damaged cell. The cells that broken will be repaired by body mechanism. Repairing the tissue need much proteins to restore the original one.
